Come with me as I explore the archives of Lakes Region Historical Society in Antioch, Illinois. The Lakes Region of northeast Illinois is rich in history. Since the first meeting in 1976, Lakes Region Historical Society (LRHS) has acquired thousands of documents, photographs, and objects over the years. Some are valuable, unique, strange, or just plain interesting. I want to share some of their stories with you. Want more information on LRHS? visit our website at: http://www.lakesregionhistory.org Is there something that you'd like to read about? Please send fan mail here, or email me and I will see what I can dig up.

My name is Holly, and I am a self-proclaimed “history nerd" that loves to dig! You will find me
going through the archives and looking for some of the most interesting stories the LRHS
collections have to tell. As LRHS's Archive Blogger, I aim to make these treasures more accessible to the community, and reach out to a new audience with social media. I am a lifelong resident of the area, graduate of Antioch Community High School, and I have a degree in history from Northeastern Illinois University.
